Bio info: Sue Brown - ENGLAND
Sue Brown - Ipcress Kennel, United Kingdom In 1977 we purchased our first Golden Retriever. Andrew was bought as a working dog - he was lovely and I thought well worth showing and that is when my first real interest in Golden Retrievers began.
We produced a Champion from our very first litter, he was SH CH Ipcress Apollo and all of our dogs today go back to Apollos mother Glengilde Barley of Ipcress. who was our foundation bitch. Over the years we have produced numerous dogs with their Stud book number, plus many Junior Warrant winners and CC winners. But the highlight of this kennel has been in owning Teddy SH CH Shardanell Talk O'The Town at Ipcress or should I say he owns us. He was Sired by our own Ipcress Sir Thomas, Teddy won his first CC at under 2 years of age and gained his title at the Golden Retriever Club show where he was B.I.S expertly handled by my friend Heidi Karves. He won 3 CC and 2 Res CC but it's in his progeny we are most proud he has won the Golden Retriever Club Stud book Cup on three different occasions, he has many Champions both here and all over the world including our own Sh Ch Shinehill Water Music Of Ipcress who also won a CC at the Golden Retriever Club Show and was Res Best in Show she has 5 CC & 7 Res CC. The year before another daughter SH CH Sandusky Gabriela Sabatini was Best in Show at the Golden Retriever Club Show. We were very proud when this year at Crufts his son SH CH/IR/DK/INT SH CH Abinvale Traguardo won the CC and Best of Breed and finished 2nd in the Gundog Group. We also own Teddy's sister who has 1 CC 3 Res C.C. to her credit. We are also pleased in Thomas's other son SH Ch Shardanell Castaspell who has also sired may Champions.
I started judging at open shows in 1987. I was passed to award C.C. in 1998 and have awarded both dog and bitch CC on many occasions. I have judged abroad since 1999. I have judged many times in The Netherlands, Finland, Austria, Germany France , Italy, Switzerland, and Czech Republic. I have been a member of the Golden Retriever Club since 1978 and have been a committee member since 2004, doing many jobs including Cup Stewar and Rescue officer.
